(1/6/2015) UK-based global distribution and outsourcing company, Bunzl plc acquired a 100% ownership interest in Istanbul Ticaret, a leading hardware and work safety products distributor in Turkey. Ventura Partners acted as exclusive financial advisor to Istanbul Ticaret on the transaction.
Established in 1987, Istanbul Ticaret (Istanbul Ticaret Hirdavat Sanayi A.S. & Istanbul Ticaret Is Guvenligi ve Endustriyel Urunler Sanayi A.S.) is a distributor of hardware and work safety products based in Turkey. The business which is engaged in the sale of a variety of hardware and personal protection equipment to both end users and other distributors throughout Turkey, has a broad range of both branded and own brand products and an excellent reputation for quality and service. Along with its facilities of 9,000 sqm in Istanbul, the Company has branches in Ankara and Bursa. Istanbul Ticaret generated revenues of TL94 mn (€33 mn) in 2014.
Bunzl plc, the international distribution and outsourcing Group is active in 27 countries with its 15,000 employees. Bunzl’s revenues reached £6.2 billion, growing by 2.5 fold in the last decade. Expanding mainly through acquisitions, Bunzl realised 17 M&A deals in 2014. The acquisition of Istanbul Ticaret will provide a good platform for Bunzl to develop a significant business in Turkey.
